I don't know why the fandom is having such a hard time picturing Azul having a little brother based on Morgana from the second Little Mermaid movie. It could totally work in canon!

Let's break this down for a second:

Azul's parents are divorced. He was raised by his bio mom and his step-dad.

Azul says himself that his step-father is "the father he respects," which could mean that he has absolutely no contact with his bio-dad. He wouldn't know what he was up to or if he had other children.

Azul's bio-dad could've also been a cecaelian (octo-mermaid) and had another child, or he could've been a normal mermaid who got with another octo-mer after he divorced Azul's mother.

Heck, maybe that was the cause for the divorce in the first place. Maybe he had an affair and destroyed his marriage himself. Or if you want to go a bit deeper, after their marriage fell apart for whatever reason, Azul's bio-dad wanted to recreate the family he lost and got with another cecaelian woman and had his little brother.

This point, in particular, could be a reference to the popular theory that Morgana was Ursula's half-sister. Same mother, different fathers.

The theory goes that Ursula was the result of an affair Triton's father, the former king, had with an octo-mermaid. Such a scandal would bring shame upon the royal family, hence why Ursula lived with her mother away from the prying eyes of the court, but it would also make sense why, in her youth, Ursula still had ties to the castle and lived there from time to time (according to the movie).

A few years later, Ursula's mother had another baby girl with a normal mermaid. He wasn't anyone special like the king, with no royal lineage or special magic of his own, making Morgana "unremarkable" in her mother's eyes. Or maybe their mother truly loved this man, and the relationship didn't work out, so she takes her anger and insecurities out on Morgana.

With all of this in mind, it's possible that Azul's bio-dad could resent Azul's little brother in some way, giving him an inferiority complex a mile wide, just like Morgana. He wouldn't stop talking about Azul and how great he's become, how his brother should strive to be more like him.

It was always: Azul this, or Azul that, or (INSERT NAME), why can't you be more like your brother Azul?

He would grow to despise Azul, his own brother, who he's never even MET. That's perfect angst potential right there. To add fuel to the fire, maybe little bro tried to reach out to Azul and connect with him, but their father sabotaged that somehow and made him think that Azul just didn't care.

Now you might be asking, how would Azul's bio-dad even know about Azul's accomplishments? Glad you asked!

Either A): Azul's mother is the only one in contact with him and updates him on how Azul's doing from time to time.

Or B): His bio-dad enrolled the Morgana stand-in in Azul's school by chance and heard through the grape vine that Azul became the deal maker non-technical crime boss he is now.

Or both. Honestly, both of these combined would push little male Morgana over the edge. His classmates hear the rumors about an octo-mer who granted devious wishes a few years back and are either scared of or really unimpressed by the little bro's lack of magical prowess.

The bullying and self-hatred haven't skipped a generation, and neither has the body issues. Instead of being insecure about being overweight, Azul's little bro is insecure about being way too skinny.

This went on way longer than I thought, but to wrap up: All this to say, if we got Jamil's sister, who is a reference to Jafar's twin sister from that obscure Aladdin game, I think it's plausible for Azul to have a brother.

So! Well I'm working on my tfw comic here's some info on the characters! Mostly red unless marked otherwise.

Spy: is tough love, he keeps others at a distance. But truly cares for the younger ones on the team (scout, runt, demo, sniper. [He isn't sure of pyro])

he will train them but push them to their limit. Rarely swears, but when he does it is in French.

Scout's mom is the only person to ever see through every disguise he has. She knows his body language and calling cards or quirks. When he would disguise himself to see Scout against his contract. She knew it was him every time and always found a way to kiss him.

Sniper: social to learn what the others quirks are. Would in theory betray them for half a peach.

Will steal items of the her mercs and hoard them. Can become obsessive sometimes.

Isn't interested in romance or sex, he'd rather observe others than get his hands dirty. But has strong friendships he refuses to admit are friendships.

Reads alot of books.

Climbs trees to get away from others will sleep anywhere. Has a habit of passing out in the middle of the day due to a poor sleep schedule.

Forgets to hydrate and eat, drives medic nuts.

Soldier: the only man to ever scare this brave American is heavy, has a respect for that man and will not cross him.

Made his wedding ring out of shrapnel from battles he and Zhanna have been in.

Speaking of Zhanna he loves her more then anything. If anyone slanders her they are dead. Very. Very. Dead.

His raccoons are his children. He thinks Pauling doesn't know about them, but Pauling is the oen that feeds them food that keeps them from getting ill form the poor diebt soldier gives.

Soldier can speak at least one other language, but no one knows what it is. He rather use it to easedrop on others then use it.

Collects things that remind him of his childhood and his wife for the possible prospect of children. "They will grow up as I did!"

Engie: when higher had a beard, pyro makes him shave it though as the comic gose.

Met Pyro before Pyro was given thr job. Was the one to tell Pauline about them.

Grew up with Leo in bee cave. Got him the job when Leo ran out of money for med school.

When is mad gets loud and stomps. Will drown self in work jf stressed.

Uses ductape for too much. Atheist 40% of his tech is reliant on duck tape somewhere on its body.

Pyro: is female.

Was daughter of someone who gave her skills to run a company.

Is very smart along the lines of Dell, tarvis, medic and Leo. But dosenr flaunt it. Sees it as nothing.

Has panic attacks. The mask helps with them liking being held tight and in smaller spaces.

Can read people well. Has those who are therapist of the crew check on those who are not ok. Knowing they are scary.

Collects taxidermy, runt gives them the failures if hers. Decorates the taxidermy in hats and doll clothing.

Can set anything on fire.

Demo: has made his own alcohol it sadly if touches the air will explode so uses it in bombs.

Loved Hawaiian shirts. Has always wanted to go but never had the time.

Is the one that tends to thr guardens of the base. Won't let pyro touch them after thr incident.

Is the therapist's friend but also the trouble maker will give you good life advice but also tell you to do something stupid. Thare is no invtween.

If it wasn't for heavy he would be the glue. Will talk to anyone. And helps cook most nights.

Has tattoos and feckless.

Scout: keeps a plush bear his dad gave him. Him. The others tease him but spy struggles not to tear up when he sees it.

Has a baseball his mom gave him when he got the job. Dosent know spy is the reason he got thr job. His mom begged him as their wasn't any Jobs for him.

Is forced to mentor runt. Iant a big fan of this but dose it for pauling.

Is more respectful than he acts. He acts loud and rude to seem cool. But his mother put a strict respectful streak in him.

Gave his dad a feather when he was 4 he doesn't remember. But Spy keeps it in his hat.

Heavy: is quiet gentle gient.

He is very smart and rather watch then talk.

Is very loyal and has had a..talk with soldier that if he ever hurts Zhanna he is a dead man. Soldier now refers to him as Sargent. He won't tell the others what he said.

Cooks well, but rather not do it. Not something he enjoys.

Is a artist. Paints in his free time.

Sings alot as well and plays five instruments.

Medic: is of Jewish descent. Doesn't..talk about his family or what happened in the war.

Has a gold ring he wears at all times on a necklace.

Dosenr talk much. Unless you get him talking about science. He loves to learn.

Is older than everyone. Rumor has it he knew the original mee teams. Uber has some interesting effects on life expectancy.

Guilty pleasure is anything chocolate.

Has money insecurities due to past. Will do anything for a bigger paycheck....anything

Leo: is medics apprentice. Has been working for 3 years.

Is quiet but loyal.

Has a gf back home. Sees runt as a little sister.

Runt and he have been pen pals for over ten years. A school project is how they ended up sending letters.

He knows what happened to Runt. He is the one who convinced Pauling to interview her.

Is shocked runt got the job was fully ready to tey to blackmail Pauling.

Runt: the youngest of the group. Only having a year of work under her belt.

Was trialed for six months before first battle.

Has alot to learn. But wants to do everything perfectly. Is rough on herself for this reason.

Can't lose this job. If she does she is sent back home or die. Has hallucinations so fears will be put into a loony bin if family finds out.

Is eldest of six. Loves her family.

Spy teaches her how to torture people. She enjoys it perhaps too much. For her she likes to know how people tick.

Blu engie (G): is quiet bur social.

Has a sadistic side. Will gutt you if given chance.

Second in command of Blu.

Was born without left hand, when engie lost his right he'd make jokes to his short cousin about it.

Is Dell's cousin. He is younger but taller.

Is patient and if mad gose silent. He dosent emote much unless he's with someone he likes or trusts..oddly enough..runt of red is one of those people

Pauling: finds scout cute but puts job first.

Is nerdy type. Has played dnd at least five or seven times.

Loves to collect rocks. Has a few scout and the mercs gave her.

Loves to read.

Has coffee more than anything else. Her hands shake because of this. Still is one of the best shots of the whole crew.

Teaches scout to read when they have days off.

Runt and her go out to get coffee and Runt gives her info she already knows but likes having a female friend.

as i was thinking about both fiona and odette one day, i realized how many similarities they shared! fiona transforms into an ogre at night, while odette transforms into a swan by day- literally recalling fiona's curse: "by night one way, by day another."

in their respective films, they're both seen healing parties that been injured with arrows back to health:

someone must've had to teach them how to heal said arrow wounds...with fiona, specifically, i feel like she's a product of the early 2000s. in certain moments, they make her this traditional princess for us to laugh at, and in other moments she's like this badass fighter, but they don't explain where those things came from...like who taught her how to fight? then my mind started opening up to the possibility that odette and fiona were somehow related/their stories intertwined

upon further thinking upon this theory, i thought about odette's formative years as portrayed in the opening number of her film. she's seen as being a prim princess with proper manners, but also someone that's combative and isn't afraid of a physical confrontation

ok so remember this. BUT ALSO there's a frog called jean bob in swan princess, who claims that he's actually a prince and that, if odette should kiss him, he'll regain his human form

you know who the voice of jean bob is? JOHN CLEESE AKA FIONA'S FATHER, KING HAROLD, THE FROG KING

this convinced me that fiona's ogreism is a recessive gene from king harold since she, too, turns into a green swamp-dwelling creature, similarly to a frog, just like her father.

BUT if it's recessive, that means it would've had to have been inherited from both sides...which would only be plausible if her mother had a similar transformation spell she was under- say, a SWAN TRANSFORMATION SPELL

also, in shrek 2, fiona's mother says the following about how she met fiona's father:

"don't you remember when we were young? we used to walk by the lily pond and (they were in bloom) our first kiss."

um, our first KISS

also, both odette and lillian (fiona's canonical mother) have feathered blonde hair. another connection- in the third film, fiona's mother is seen head-butting through a brickwall and freeing the princesses from a prison. when fiona is shocked, her mother replies:

"well, you didn't actually think you got your fighting skills from your father, did you?"

UM

odette is a fighter and, going along with my earlier point, the one that i think taught fiona how to safely remove arrows! so odette HAS to either be fiona's mother or cousin and lillian is her aunt or mom...it all connects

also, not for nothing, but odette is the only princess to have an onscreen awkward phase (which relates to fiona feeling ugly) and odette is literally a ginger with braids at that time, which is fiona's signature look

furthermore, in the beginning of the swan princess, the parents arrange a marriage between derek and odette. in the hopes that the prince and princess will fall in love, the parents make them spend every summer together from the age of 6 to 16, praying they'll develop a romance. odette secretly likes derek the entire time, but derek hates her. it isn't until their final meeting, when she's grown up and conventionally attractive, that he takes to her and quickly announces to, "arrange the marriage!" odette interjects, "wait!" he replies, "what? you're all i ever wanted...you're beautiful." and she LITERALLY says, "thank you...but what else?" he blankly stares at her and says, "...what else?" to which she replies (source):

i can see this being a generation curse where fiona, too, needs to learn this lesson and i think, since odette already knows there's more than beauty, it causes...tension between she and fiona. fiona being like, "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE LIKE THIS."

but also, the frog king, the swan princess, the ogre princess- this is def a family line COME ON

also since odette knows it isn't what it seems (which the prince has to master in the swan princess, as per odette's father)/there's more than just beauty, that's why i think she (lillian) wasn't shocked when fiona came back in shrek 2 as an ogre, whereas harold was visibly more upset. also, idk if you all know but there's a deleted scene with a character called dama fortuna that asks fiona to choose between 'beauty' and her 'happily ever after.' fiona chooses beauty like...again, the generational curse!

this would prop fiona up to be a perfect mix between her parents. like odette, she sees past appearances and knows there's more than beauty which explains why fiona doesn't judge shrek that much. she's initially disappointed he's an ogre purely because of her curse but otherwise, she doesn't care. meanwhile she can't accept herself because she takes half after her father, harold, who is so unaccepting of himself but also those around him (ogre shrek and fiona). like it makes SO much sense that fiona would be a combination of these two (source)

harold's need for "beauty", ie people who are societally acceptable in his eyes, leads to him literally imprisoning his daughter to a tower so no one sees her as an ogre. meanwhile, with lillian, she's way more accepting which is why i never understood how she would also send fiona off, especially since she willingly married harold the frog king.

BUT if you subscribe to my theory that she's odette

it would absolutely make sense she's cosign on sending fiona off because of the line above ("you're all i ever wanted; you're beautiful"). when fiona's growing up, odette/lillian notices fiona parroting a lot of her father harold's harmful rhetoric. where harold sends fiona off to hide her, i think odette/lillian sends her off so fiona learns the same lesson harold/frog king had to learn (it isn't as it seems/there's more to life than beauty or being accepted by society) and allowing her daughter to mentally develop in her formative years without the negative influence of her father or the unrealistic beauty standards/wrong priorities that far far away sends forth as an allegory of the entertainment and beauty industry (fairy godmother).

BUT i think with time, odette/lillian starts to feel bad and urges harold to bring fiona back, which brings us to the fourth movie with that scene where she convinces harold to make a deal with rumpelstilskin to bring fiona back

It's Arven's Fault :( : A Theory

When the book was first written, it was by a man named Heath. A man who went on an expedition with an unnamed team and his beloved Cyclizar! There, he met fantastical creatures that we know now as Paradox Pokemon, including a strange-looking Donphan and a creator we only know as the Disc Pokemon. 60 years later, this same man who saw amazing things, is being discredited because what he saw in Area Zero was too fantastical to be real. In the world of Pokemon, someone said, “That’s not real.” Yeah.

Area Zero is a brutal environment that only those with permission can enter due to how dangerous the area is which brings the question Arven: Why is he getting special treatment just cuz his mom and dad are professors? Talk about elitists!

It’s been three months but spoilers for the end of Scarlet/Violet respectively! For all intents and purposes, from this moment on, I will talk about the games through the Scarlet perspective cuz, for me, it’s a lot easier to explain to Paradoxmons this way, but also because I played the game itself. I loved Scarlet and all I can hear when I see Koraidon’s goofy face is the distant sound of its feet slapping against linoleum tiles like an uncoordinated frog.

Okay but seriously, why was Arven given access to Area Zero before the game, and even in post-game? It doesn’t make sense. It’s extremely dangerous to go here. Even if he’s the professor’s kid it doesn’t make sense. What possessed him to go into Area Zero which resulted in Mabosstiff getting severely hurt? And I offer you, his anger.

We will be talking about the final plot line, “A Way Home,” so AGAIN. SPOILERS. Alright, I did it twice now. Moving on.

In the postgame, the professor tasks us with breaking her out of the Zero Lab, which is on lockdown as a safety measure. Remember that. This was a safety thing that started it all. 

Here we are pressing buttons at the four separate research stations with varying journals as well as rest and teleport points for easy access throughout the unmapped Area Zero, which yes does not have a map. It truly is a world of its own in the Great Crater of Paldea. In fact, it was through Area Zero my friends and I discovered you can’t invade each other’s craters in the PokePortal function which honestly made me sad cuz I wanted to catch Mecha-Godzilla and Mecha-Mothra on my own but I did eventually get them in trade.

The journals in these stations tell us a lot about the professor and, thereupon, Arven. At R.S.1, we read:

“We've determined that this energy crystallization is linked to the being we call ▊▊▊▊▊▊.

The interlocking hexagonal plates that comprise ▊▊▊▊▊▊'s shell must somehow cause this phenomenon—which I've dubbed "Terastallizing."

And:

“Thanks to my prototype Tera Orb, I secured corporate funding for my research and made a laboratory in the lighthouse near Cabo Poco.

Someday, though, I'll return to the crater and resume my study of these crystals.”

With these alone, we can determine that Arven is around 6. Why? Because in the game, we learn that Professor Sada had invented Tera Orbs, about 10 years before the game starts!

Arven has grown up alone in the Poco Path Lighthouse Lab for a long time, actually. He even mentions numerous times how his mom is always buried in her work and has no time for him, which is sad considering what we know now. Sorry Arven. Your mom was hot though.

Anyway, we learn in RS4’s journals that not only has she managed to build a highly sophisticated AI but that her partner, “that man”, has left (“not long after “that boy was born.”).

As someone who gets so hyperfocused on tasks that time doesn’t pass normally, not long after Arven was born, could mean frankly anywhere between 2 minutes after birth or 6 years after birth. Either way, Sada is bitter Turo left, leaving a pile of research in this lab in Poco Path alone with her son.

We also learn about an incident where civilians had seen Koraidon’s amazing power and scared a lot of people. The professor made the decision to not only return Koraidon to Area Zero but also bury herself in research to later build an AI and pull in a second Koraidon.

That’s sad. Not like in a mean way, just in general. Of course, the pronouns are altered in Violet, but either way, we get a story of a professor with a broken heart. Aw. Poor professors. Its hard not to sympathize when you realize they were probably really hurt by them leaving the professor alone with a child.

Or what it probably actually was was like her coworker that she occasionally had some…cardio with had quit.

It is noted that Professor Sada, when returning from Area Zero is not seen by Arven until the events of the game. Meaning that the moment Sada took Koraidon back to the crater, Arven hasn’t seen Sada. Meaning the Tera Orbs was the last major event Arven could have been a part of!

But Arven says he grew up with the red lizard. He also has its Pokeball. Its possible the professor saw what will be our Koraidon’s passive nature and decided leaving it out of its Pokeball was fine! In fact, she probably packed her bags and got on her bikemon and sped off saying she was getting milk.

So confirmed. Arven hasn’t seen Sada or Koraidon in 10 years. So what was it that compelled him to go to Area Zero?

“I wanna give my mom a piece of my mind.” GRRRRRR. I’ve got mommy issues and its my only personality trait.

Trust me dude. Using that as your only personality trait will leave you sad and angry. Wait.

Arven tells us later on in his Path of Legends story that Mabosstiff had been hurt after an attack from a rampaging pokemon inside of the crater when he was trying to see his mom. He repeats this sentiment when Penny sees Scream Tail and remarks on how cute it is.

Go back though. He was trying to see his mom. It is confirmed that Arven went into the crater to see his mom. Meaning this: Arven was trying to see his mom which might’ve set off the territorial Koraidon’s instincts.

A stretch? Not so much, actually.

At the beginning of the game we see our box legendary launching up from the clouds of Area Zero before flying over Paldea to show off what our beautiful region that we’re about to explore looks like and I want whatever sandwich he ate to provide infinite flying cuz that would’ve been funny to see in co-op.

After we feed our box a sandwich and get Damsel in Distress style rescued by said lizard, we meet Arven for the first time. And what is the first thing he says upon seeing Koraidon: "What're you doing out here?!"

Arven realizes Koraidon being out here is bad. Like insanely bad. It’s a bad taste in his mouth bad. He remarks how the memories do leave a bad taste in his mouth as well. While yeah, that makes sense, bad memories do leave a sort of bitter taste, but for me, this says more.

Bleh! I remember you as the reason my mom left me alone for ten years!

Bleh! If you hadn’t been taken away, I wouldn’t be emo!

Bleh! If you hadn’t been here, I never would’ve gone into Area Zero to watch my dog get nearly killed and can’t be possibly healed except for these herbs I saw in a book that I just found in my mom’s old lab that I was in just before the player and Nemona walked up.

However, this is countered by Arven saying this after being defeated: "But if you really think you can take Koraidon off my hands for me...you'll need this. It's the Poké Ball that brute's been kept in."

That brute’s been kept in. Wait, does he mean over the last ten years or just in general that’s Koraidon’s pokeball? I don’t think it’s the former. Not because its put a hole in my idea, but because to keep a pokemon stored in a pokeball for so long. We do know that when Pokemon go in, they almost shrink down and become data. Data huh–I might have ideas for a certain Kanto Cryptid–

Moving on. I doubt anyone would keep a pokemon in a pokeball for a decade as Pokemon are confirmed to age within Pokeballs. The only incidents we’ve seen of a pokemon being fine after being confined for so long are Sir Aaron’s Lucario in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew and Spiritomb. And fine? That’s a relative term considering Spiritomb had to be sealed because of its power and Lucario had a panic attack and went into shock when it got out.

So the Professor likely left the Pokeball behind seeing as the book was also left behind. Meaning the Professor left quickly. She just suddenly disappeared until the Player comes to Paldea.

But what does this mean? Based on the timing and the build up: I think Arven is the reason his parents tragically die.

As far as we’re aware, Sada invented AI Sada sometime after Turo left and never reported it as the AI could not physically leave the crater due to the Tera Crystal energy. She even pulled a second Koraidon with the help of her AI partner. She’s been hyperfocused for ten years in Area Zero, likely living off the environment within. This isn't to say our professor is forgiven for her actions.

She was in Research Station 4 when the more aggressive Koraidon attacked Our Koraidon. 

Just before Paradise Protection Protocol takes control of the AI professor, the AI actually apologizes to Arven.

On top of that, when AI professor sends us to Area Zero at the end of the Path of Legends quest, we learn from Arven he used to come here to play all the time as a kid. Meaning, he was likely being watched by Director Clavell or even Jacq, which would probably give a realistic explanation as to why he’s allowed into Area Zero. They gave him access because they believe Arven is old enough to know how to care for himself enough to survive and give him too much credit for being the professor’s kid.

Not only that but when we explore Area Zero with Arven, he’s surprised by all the research stations. Meaning, he never went in but he does offer that he was attacked somewhere between RS1/2. Because of the location it was at, for the games, I think he was attacked by either Sliver Wing or Sandy Shocks in Scarlet and Iron Moth or Thorns in Violet. However, given that Sandy Shocks is Electric/Ground, I’d say it was Slither Wings for Scarlet! As for violet, the options for that area between the research stations are highly limited so let me know down below which Paradox you think Arven faced the first time, because spoilers, its not the Donphans and its not the Scream Tail/Iron Bundle! He would’ve reacted to them if he had.

Mabosstiff gets hurt, hurt enough that no potions or Nurse Delphine’s can help it. I’d say blood could’ve been drawn, given that Mabosstiff can’t even stand when we first meet it. The Territorial Koraidon smells the blood. There’s an invader nearby. It goes on a rampage and tries to attack our passive Koraidon. Why? Proximity.

The territorial Koraidon, or Miraidon for Violet players, attacking our Raidon out of nowhere doesn’t make any sense. The professor notes that the second one is much more aggressive but this thing has been with the professor and the AI for years. How do I know this? The AI apologizes for Arven being alone for so long.

"Arven. I am sorry that I kept the truth from you for so long. I inherited all the thoughts and wishes of the professor, and so I understand better than any..."

"Your mother truly loved you."

The territory battle leaves Koraidon weakened as it escapes to crash onto the beach near Poco Path Lighthouse, the one safe haven it remembers outside of the crater. It passes that lighthouse when it suddenly collapses. Meaning, Koraidon was still injured from that incident.

And it is with the Professor’s death that the AI decides it’s time to shut down the machine, hurrying from RS4 to Zero Lab. Afterall, someone just died because of a Paradox Pokemon, a pokemon that is one of the many that have been coming out of the time machine. The AI panics and puts the lab into lockdown to prevent anymore Pokemon from escaping into the crater and ultimately into Paldea.

When trying to track our Koraidon and the territorial one, the professor finds the Pokeball in proximity to a student with a Rotom Phone that just moved to Paldea.

So, there you have it, Arven’s want for closure with his mommy/daddy issues were the reason they died, and I think it’s sad to say that the guy might've figured it out, which is why we don’t really see a reaction from him aside from calling out to the AI when they go into the time machine to their dream eras as well as how he kinda is surprised by everything to do with his family in the post-game.

In the Director’s Office, he says:

"So she really was always amazing...right from the start, huh?"

"All these pieces of my mom's life—they were right in front of me this whole time...I spent so long trying not to think about her that I never even noticed...until now."

And in the main hall/library:

PS: It was brought to my attention after writing the script that there’s no way this makes sense because there’s mold in the mattress and even crystals forming inside RS4. To that I counter with the mold. Mold spores take about 24-48 hours to actually lock in and be able to eat away at organic material, however, it’s never clarified what kind of mold it is. Some molds take YEARS to actually eat away at organic material. Others months.

As for the crystals in RS4, that makes sense because some material has been broken away. As we can see within the deeper caverns of Area Zero, crystals are ABUNDANT, and reflecting the wrong way, but they grow fast, even in Paldea. If you’re connecting to the internet, you can sometimes see Tera Raid crystals shrink down and respawn an entirely new crystal to give the player better variety. These things grow fast, and with the presence of Glimmora, it wouldn’t surprise me if those actually spawned like two minutes before the player walked in.

As for why the Zero Lab is covered in crystal, the professor actually notes the crystals can enhance both organic/inorganic materials, given it a cop out for why the AI is as sophisticated as it is, but also explaining how these crystals might be a major power source for the time machine.

Don’t forget, in RS1, a journal does state that the energy crystallization process we know as Terastylizing is a result of our mystery, possibly third legendary.

Finished listening to the New Midnight Burger episode, though I’ll admit, I'm gonna miss the last logo, the new logo is great! 

I loved the new episode, and It's an early Mother’s Day episode! And learn something new about Caspar and Ava. Ava's mother confessed she’s pregnant when Caspar's mothers entered the Diner/club when Caspar was only a 2-year-old toddler, and i can assume that he's 2-3 years older than Ava; If Caspar’s is correct when he subtracted his years he spent on earth compare to his actual age in space in the diner then I assume he’s about 43-44 human years old(?). (I need to relisten to that again) In mannerisms and speech, Ava resembles her mom, the only difference being their ambitions. Playing piano isn’t bad, if anything, it may have helped her have better than most working memory.  I feel for Gloria. I haven’t yet experienced a loss that feels like a part of your soul was ripped away but I can imagine seeing them brought back through malicious intent, is heartbreakingly cruel.  Ava’s favorite song is hilarious! I had to look us the song, Somehow that kind of song reminds me of another song because it just matches another equally hilarious absurd song I loved and looked it up. I thought I’ve heard of the guy’s name before! I like his song, The Masochism Tango. She (and her VA) sings beautifully. Good for Ava though, Bit by bit she’s learning to be empathetic. Comforting two people about their communication skills as these married couple, who living in a different universes where one is about to be destroyed and now, a new mom on being a bad mom. Also, It feels a bit comforting to me because of the doubts I’ve been feeling on that particular subject. Oh Clementine's even reality bending powers can’t stop all suffering in the universe, you can show compassion for it to pass forward to other people that the diner can’t visit for, heaven knows that there’s a lot of depressed people suffering. Kinda like in Inside out when Joy realize that when a person suffers, there people who’ll come to aid and show compassion. Her offers are really tempting, offering the chance to rectify past mistakes, reunite with lost loved ones, and get back long-held dreams, finally putting an end to one's suffering. While Zebulon and Effie may view the offers as a potential deal with the devil, given Clementine's reality-bending powers and the incredible nature of her offer, ((I am certain that she will require something in return - even if she is unaware of it herself, believing her intentions to be pure.)) Despite the temptation, I doubt that Leif and Ava will accept the offer. especially Ava. Ava is more concerned with the truth than being believed by others. I mean, would she really resist the opportunity to travel through time and dimensions to test her theories or stay on earth and have her theories just be numbers on a chalkboard without proof?  Thinking to myself The Mucklewains, though they may not be the same people as the once lived in the 1920s, they are still real people that we love and respect. Physical bodies or not. Oh man, That cliffhanger. I like that Caspar is like growing as a person. He was a really grumpy guy when you first met him, like you could imagine this dude already growing white hair but he’s really grow to be more open and jokes around with others. Looking at him, 173 years old young and joking about it.  I know there’s more that I’m missing but I've those are the main plot points that happened in the episode that I can remember. I’ve heard it once, I will listen to it again later.  I also loved the bloopers they added at the end of the podcast. XD.

“Do you wanna see her first?”

Behind the house is where her mom was buried.

“Please?”

Ellie stared at the grave, a headstone that read her first and middle name followed by Miller. Wife, mother, friend. ‘For they say you are taking the sunshine’ was inscribed on it, song lyrics Ellie knew right away. In the front, near patches of grass and a well worn area for sitting, there were flowers at varying stages of decomposition at the base… Joel brought them a lot, it seems. “Red River Valley” Ellie muttered about the lyrics, choking back tears. She will not cry, she told herself. “That’s uncle Zach’s favorite.”

Joel nodded in understanding. “Your moms too. Learned it on guitar just for her.”

Walking in the house, her chest felt tight, feeling like she may have another

Panic moment like she did when she first met Joel… all eyes were on her as she walked in, Joel telling them to ‘show some goddamn respect’ to shut them up. Walking in the dining room, however… her worry dissipated. Joel had set up a meal for her. “Figured you’d be hungry. I’m not the best cook, but…”

Thing was, it was good, vegetables and all. Joel even muttered manners after she ripped a large belch at the table. Afterwards, Joel asked if she wanted to see the room. Ellie knew which one.

It was strange, seeing the room she was born in, the room her mom died in. The window had been boarded up, a shitty mattress on the floor, a piano to the right and a few boxes of random things here and there.

“This is where your mom lived when she first came to live with us, before we were married. These are her things. You can look if you want.”

And look she did. Ellie flipped through the items, taking them out and holding them, smelling the clothes, boxes of pretty dresses, a few baby items that they had gotten preparing for her birth, a well-worn deck of cards… With Joel’s permission to explore and a heartsick eye watching her, she touched the things her mom touched, slowly getting a sense of who she was, dust-collected memories strewn about the room as Ellie took in everything she could: comic books that read Star Wars on the cover, a book called Jurassic Park, eventually landing on the piano.

She stood up from the floor of memories she never got to have, approaching the small piano with care and wonder. Zach taught her to appreciate instruments; they were rare, Lorenzo working extra hard and drawing in all his connections to bring Uncle Zach the one he had.

Tentatively, Ellie, plucked out a few cords, drawing Joel over to where she stood.

“You play, Ellie June?”

Ellie nodded. “A little. Zach taught me some. I’m not good, but… I know Red River Valley.”

A soft smile spread across his sad face. “I’d love to hear you play, baby girl”

“I’m not singing. Fuck that shit.” She was quick to warn, making Joel chuckle and assure her he could handle that part.

2010-2019: My Little Pony: FIM

Was definitely my favorite show. I still love that show sm. Definitely has the most active fan base of them all. Making art for this show definitely inspired me to be the artist i am now. -- This show rased me, and raised me good. The older fandom is questionable, there's definitely some generational trama given to us Gen Z by them, but it was a very pro-lgbt space, and i loved this so sm.

2017-2021: DuckTales!! (Woo-hoo)

Always kinned Louie, and always will. I mean hell, i named my first MLP OC after Lena!! -- I really loved the episodes Quack Pack and GlomTales! (the latter if wich being because is was A. it Louie centered episode, and B. he proved to his mother that his scamming isn't all bad which i was proud of him for). I think i loved him sm just bc, well one, my favorite color has always been green, but two he's so relatable. Like the episode where he wasn't so sure and up to the idea of Della suddenly coming back and being his mom when he'd never even spoke to her once was just so good. Now i can look back and see how it was relatable, but even then when i didn't know what ik now i found him to be the most logical person in that situation.

2019-2023: The Owl House

When MLP ended, this was the show that came in and swooped me up. As of writing, the shows only been officially over for about an hour. And while yes, DuckTales was there when MLP ended, it still definitely made me feel like something was missing. It did take about a season for me to realize TOH was filling that feeling but it got there. This show has probably effected me about as much as MLP. Like through the episode “Lost in Language”, apon watching some reviews and theories on the episode, i found out Luz was bisexual. At the time i hadn't really heard the term b4, but only about a day of finding it out, i was already comfortable going by it! It just fit too well!! I also got my preferred name/s from Emira and Edric!! Sigh, i could write sm about TOH since it literally just ended, but i don't want to be here all day.

I was wondering for a long time whether to publish it because this theory doesn’t really make sense but I love it anyway, so maybe you’ll have fun too!

So let’s talk about Kakashi's mom. What do we know about her? Nothing at all. No information, no photo, no memory. Why does Kakashi think so much about every person he lost, but never about her? Even after he died, he only met his father. What if it's because ... she's alive?

Sakumo committed suicide when Kakashi was very young. I know he went through a lot and was depressed, but would someone as moral as he leave his child completely alone? Maybe Kakashi still had a mother back then.

(Also, in memories we see little kakashi who, after his father's death, always screams to someone "I'm going out" and "I'm back")

SO, WHAT IF…

Kakashi’s mother, shortly after the death of his beloved father (whom she had never truly loved herself), found a new love. Kakashi couldn't forgive her moving on so quickly. He suspected that maybe she even cheated on Sakumo while he was still alive. He hated her terribly and cut himself off from her. During the war his mother's boyfriend died as did her younger brother. She lost her lover, her family, and her only son did not want anything to do with her. She left the village and became addicted to alcohol and gambling.

Many of you probably already know what I am aiming for…

When Tsunade returned to the village to become hokage, I immediately had the feeling that Kakashi didn't like her very much. He did not treat her with the same respect as the other Hokages, he was irritated by her constant calls to her office and new missions. Even so, when Kakashi died during the battle with Pain, we could see a very strong reaction from Tsunade.

Besides, let's look at some other facts:

- Tsunade is known for still looking very young despite her age. Who is the other person who hasn't aged a day from the start of the series until Boruto? That's right - Hatake Kakashi.

- In the naruto intro we can clearly see that Kakashi feels very awkward with Jiraya drooling over Tsunade. Well, who wouldn't feel awkward with such a reaction to his mother?

Still thinking about your theory of Roman identifying with Caroline and acting in a sort of daughter-wife role because it's only way he understands of how to get Logan's love even though it makes him a failure as a man in his eyes, and conversely how Kendall and Shiv both identify with Logan and want his love through getting his respect and recognition of their strength, but Kendall can never be enough on his own and settles for playing wife as well since then he's at least valued, while Shiv has convinced herself that she *can* be enough and flinches away from any attempt to confine her to that objectified mold but because of that is still considered a failure as a woman.

Besides that, it's interesting to me how their modified Freudian complexes manifest, like with Roman wanting to marry his dad but also having an affectionate relationship with his mom, Shiv wanting to kill her dad but expected to act like a wife and seen by her mom as an enemy, and Kendall wanting to kill his dad but still being emotionally bound to him and getting nothing from his mom.

Yeah a lot of it has to do with Logan's reluctance to relinquish power over them. He's created this controlled environment where they're all forced to depend on him and think of his needs or wants. They can't really find ways to successfully project their desires onto someone else because the imagined father is always a bit attached to the real one. They can't properly individuate.

With Shiv, she can't be either because she doesn't want to nor can she fit that "daughter-wife" role, but she also can't be the heir because she's a woman. No one sees Shiv how she wants to be seen. It probably contributes to her feelings of exclusion. Given her jealousy of Peter Onion, I get the sense she feels spurned by Caroline. Likewise, Caroline feels spurned by her. It's a classic Succession misunderstanding.

Roman's almost the inverse, but where Shiv thinks she can be the heir, Roman knows he can't be the "daughter-wife" in the conventional sense; it can't just be about earning his love because by doing that he'd be debasing himself since he's a man. He has to find another avenue to get the same thing and as his son, it's obviously through being the heir or rather co-chair/CEO since that's more like marriage than taking over from him. Obviously, that last bit is totally contrary to what he's "supposed" to want, so his desires could never be met within this context.

Kendall's kind of just in this position of being demoted to failson-wife because Logan refuses to let go and also his mother finds him too emotionally intense to handle. If he wasn't so dependent on him, he would be able to just act out the oedipal desires on a symbolic father and mother. Instead, he's kind of just running in circles. The whole buy out and loss of the trust thing changed the situation a bit, though. It used to be that Kendall would either have to wait until Logan dies or cash out. Having Logan loose a bit of his grip on his kids would have interesting results.

I always wonder how much the other siblings understand what the others want, especially if Kendall and Shiv understand what Roman wants since he's the only one trying to "marry" dad. Within their family, it's pretty shameful to want that, so I would imagine the idea is a bit hard for them to wrap their heads around. Like, they could understand it on a dumb level, but it would be hard to get it.

Okay so I was thinking about ToE and had ideas to add for my Not Today Destiny AU(tl:dr, Kai keeps Lloyd’s Green Ninja status secret from everyone and how canon is affected from there)

Also, before we get into it, because there was no Overlord messing with tech, THERE IS NO LOVE TRIANGLE! I am fully subscribed to the theory that the Overlord messed with it in order to split the team up, and it’s stupid that it worked. So no Love Triangle and no Jay Cole Fight. That’s important later.

ANYWAY, with Zane not dead they’d be a bit less desperate to go to the island, and without that incentive of keeping quiet they’d probably immediately go talk to Wu about this weird invite and the fact that other Elemental Masters existed.

Wu would fill them in, explain how Chen was definitely up to something, which has them all go in the first place, and Nya and Wu agree to stay behind to watch Lloyd and defend against Garmadon.

How does this exactly tie into this AU? Well, there were two extra letters sent, one to Kai and Lloyd respectively.

Lloyd’s letter explained how he was also being invited, and if he won he would be awarded some info about his mom. Lloyd knows the ninja would never let him go, so he opts to sneak there and then explain. Better to ask apologies than permission. But don’t worry, he left a note for Nya and Wu

Meanwhile, Kai’s explains how they have found knowledge of who the Green Ninja is, and if he wins he’ll get that info and can do whatever he wants with it.

These two are connected and also important later.

They go to the boat, Nya gets them some hidden trackers to be safe, Kai is secretly freaking out since “How the heck does Chen know???” and then Lloyd sneaks on too. Now, at first everyone just thinks Lloyd is just really short and keeps to himself. It’s not until they land and get to the main room that it finally clicks to Kai that it’s Lloyd when Chen points him out as the Master of Energy.

He of course, is very not happy that Lloyd is here and makes that very well known. The other ninja are equally unhappy while the rest of the EM’s are given a slight Moral Dilemma since yes they want to win, but that means there’s a chance of them fighting a literal child(it’s been….almost a year since they first met Lloyd so he’s about 10 right now).

Lloyd’s room is next to Kai’s, just on the other side so he still shares a balcony space with Skylor. Maybe one of the other EM’s finds Lloyd desperately looking for a Jade Blade and “accidentally” drops it so he can pass.

Later when Karlof is dropped through the floor more than a few cast a glance over to Lloyd, each silently dreading who will have to go against him. Nobody comments when Kai holds Lloyd close and if anyone saw Lloyd sneaking into Kai’s room that night, they didn’t say anything.

It’s that night when Lloyd explains why he came, which makes Kai panic even more. On one hand, he cannot let anyone else find out about Lloyd’s Destiny. But on the other….Lloyd could finally get answers for what happened to his mom unlike Kai who has no idea what happened to his parents

So yeah. Not a fun time.

But it only gets worse from there.

You see, at first each of the ninja let out a silent sigh of relief when they learned they wouldn’t have to fight Lloyd.

Wellllllllll since there’s no Love Triangle and no fighting between Cole and Jay, Chen has no reason to pit them against each other to further split up the ninja.

What he does instead? Changes things so instead it’s Kai vs Lloyd

Now, it’s plainly obvious to everyone that those two are very close, so they’re not looking froward to this next fight at all. Camille honestly isn’t sure if this is better or worse than if she had to go against him

At first, their fight is mostly a verbal one, trying to get the other to take the Jade Blade, with only the occasionally very wide shot to try and herd the other toward the Blade. At some point Kai ends up physically picking up Lloyd and trying to carry him over to the Jade Blade, yelling about how Lloyd has a chance to find his mom and he shouldn’t that up, but Lloyd is fighting him and immediately yells back that he doesn’t want to find her at the cost of his Big Brother and god if that isn’t a knife in the heart of the other EMs.

But Chen, being the bastard he is, decides this is boring because it’s going no where and release the bikes like canon, and then these two fight like a well oiled machine. 

But ofc, we can’t have nice things and the arena starts falling apart.

And Kai….as much as he’s terrified of Lloyd’s Destiny, he even more terrified of loosing Lloyd.

So with a bright smile and a good luck wish, he jumps.

That night when Chen takes away their rooms as punishment, none of them can be mad. They don’t comment either when the remaining ninja drag two of the bunk beds together a curl up around Lloyd. Instead of splitting them apart, it only lets them know that Chen is not their friend. He sees all of this as a game, going as far as to lure a child here with promises of finding his mother and making him fight the family he has left. 

This actually makes their Elemental Alliance work out better this time.

(Also this time Jay fought Ash, then Cole fought Camille(I’m also 99% sure the skating thing was just another attempt to split them up, so again it’s kinda useless here).

Meanwhile Kai does not have a fun time. Clouse is upset since 1) the plan was for Lloyd to be the one to loose, either by Kai winning or making Lloyd fall, since because he’s the green ninja he’s bound to be powerful and 2) because Skylor got attached to this stranger and Chen ordered him to make Kai useful to them. So now he’s trying to keep a very annoying, very loud prisoner while waiting from the Master of Mind to be captured so he can use those powers to make Kai more docile.

Unfortunately, a side affect of Kai being as loud and obnoxious as possible means he spends a lot of his time knocked out, so he has no idea how long he’s been stuck under or if any of his family are stuck under here too. At the very least he shares a wall with Karlof who tries his best to fill him in(when he learns who Kai was made to fight he also gets pretty pissed).

Later when they’re all dropped from the plane, all of them are quick to make sure Lloyd has a parachute. This time the objective is to a “Safe Zone,” but there’s only enough for four of them. However, the Safe Zones are, unsurprisingly, traps and there’s enough for everyone. Once you step in one, it descends, then vengestone cuffs fly out and trap the Master inside.

Skylor ends up finding Lloyd and offers to help him look for one. They end up talking and joking, Lloyd saying how Kai has an enormous crush on her and kept trying to impress her, but Lloyd thought she was good and would like Kai if they didn’t need to fight each other, which accidentally slams her with guilt. 

Some how she ends up slipping, maybe by accidentally revealing how she knows the locations/number of traps and Lloyd realizes she’s the spy which crushes him. He tries to fight her but she just pushed him onto the trap.

Going to the small cult area below, the remaining EMs are brought together. They try their best to keep Lloyd protected but he’s brought to the front anyway. Lloyd asks if they even knew about his mom, to which Chen reminisces about a woman they meet a few years ago who was stealing from them and how they stole some of her things, but they were mostly worthless. They honestly have no idea where she is, which just makes Lloyd mad.

Mad these people tricked him. Mad these people had the audacity to pretend to know his mom. Mad these people made Kai sacrifice himself for him.

However, they weren’t lying About having met Misako. That’s actually how they found out about the whole “Lloyd Being The Green Ninja” thing

But anyway. Chen steals their powers, Skylor is having a moral dilemma, and they start getting ready to Make Trouble in the Noodle Factory

Only this time when they go to steal the staff, they now have to fight Kai.

Only this time for real.

This is the replacement for the Staff Scene. Because of his affect under the Staff Kai…..isn’t really there. Like, he’s just a blank puppet. There’s the tiniest amount of emotion, but his eyes look empty.

At some point the staff goes flying and it turns into a mental tug of war between Clouse commanding Kai and Lloyd and the others trying to get through to him. Lloyd is luckily able to get to Kai enough for him to smash the jewel, releasing the EM powers and the control on him. It gives him the worst headache though.

And from there, canon is mostly the same for a while. The whole time this has been going on Zane has been having dreams/nightmares about an Ice Dragon and finally makes the connection to unlock it. Skylor is still captured, Chen still escapes but now Clouse is still around, Pythor is captured, TIME FOR THE END

This time around, the EMs are able to follow Chen to their base of operations and have the final battle there. They fight, and even though they’re only partially Anacondrai, they’re still hard to fight.

Clouse tries to do the whole “Banish You To the Departed Realm” thing, but accidentally summons the Anacondrai Generals as well, who are very not happy over what these humans are doing.

And yeah. That’s what I got.

I might do more in depth posts for some of the other seasons, not sure. But feel free to ask or submit ideas of your own

So I was watching Frozen II the other day and the whole confusion about the voice visited again. Like, who's calling Elsa? Is it Ahtohallan? Her mom? Her own self? Jennifer Lee (I think) said that the voice belongs to Iduna, but that doesn't sit well with me. And then I remembered that I've written my own theory about it, which why not share it with you? 😂

It's probably very inaccurate based on the things we know, but it was really fun to write!

The Fifth Spirit

Very long ago, in a time no man can recall, humans weren't the dominant species on Earth. There were no rules, yet neither freewill.

Or so it was thought.

People lived under nature's laws -they interacted with it, respected it greatly but mostly feared it. Prophecies about nature's rage were foolishly believed and seriously taken into account.

But it wasn't nature they truly feared -it was its magic.

Humans never succeeded to understand magic -it was considered unreachable. Only a small group of people that repeatedly refused to take part in the "vision of civilization" decided to co- exist with the magical elements and spirits of nature. These people were the first human inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest and the ancestors of the future indigenous Northuldra.

As time went on, people grew more and more arrogant, thought they were capable of everything and gradually stopped believing in nature's power. They began sacrificing and falsely taking advantage of nature's goods. Seeing their audacity getting out of hand, the spirits of air, fire, water and earth sought help from Ahtohallan, the mythical river said to hold all the answers.

The then- small glacier, foreseeing the consequences of people's hauteur, sacrificed a part of herself and sculpted a female figure, with hair and skin as white and pale as freshly fallen snow and eyes as blue as shining ice. With her ancient magic, the glacier gave life to the woman, who was none other than the Fifth Spirit.

According to scanty myths, the woman had achieved great and extraordinary accomplishments in her previous life and the magical river had collected and kept her soul to be used for greater things when the right time would arrive. However, those speculations never came to be confirmed.

Nonetheless, why she was there and why she was chosen, that she never came to know. And a part of her wondered if she ever would.

People's conceit kept growing in an astonishingly fast pace while the Fifth Spirit was given a duty -to connect humans and the magic of nature, as well as protect the only home she would ever know in her existence; the Enchanted Forest.

Apart from her duty, she was also given a power no human had known and no spirit had possessed -the ability to create ice and snow, to control and bring winter. After connecting with the other elements, she was also gifted and given powers to represent all four spirits, such as wings, the ability to strike lightning and control the water, as well as the power to cause earthquakes.

The Fifth Spirit was sent to humans after fully mastering her powers and understanding her purpose. Under the guidance of the unseen deity, people began having faith in nature and underlying yet great respect.

However, this was not an easy task to achieve. It took her almost a hundred years to restore people's faith and trust -but she successfully accomplished it.

Each passing day her power grew significantly, and so did her fondness for her creator. To show her gratitude, she used her unprecedented power and expanded the length and height of her beloved glacier, making Ahtohallan an extension of her powers and mostly, herself.

To honour her child, Ahtohallan assigned to her a new task; she had to visit a chosen woman's dream and recite a poem that would soon be heard from every young Northuldra mother's lips -the lullaby of Ahtohallan. The old glacier also gifted her with a beautiful staff that could summon power and turn into a crystal necklace when unneeded.

Having already mentioned the lullaby, it's important to subjoin the meaning behind a specific lyric -"dive down deep into her sound, but not too far or you'll be drowned". The youthful spirit created a sheer drop that ended to an ice sheet to keep there the utmost truth, for only the most selfless souls would be fearless enough to ignore the warning, as well as brave enough to dive into the abyss. That, if anyone would ever manage to reach the frozen river. For the mighty Water Nokk -who shared a very special bond with the Fifth Spirit- guarded her secrets.

For the very start of her existence -as well as in the meantime of her mission to restore people's faith-, the Fifth Spirit would travel across the Earth to bring winter and joy to the children. She was the very first winter spirit  -Jack Frost made his appearance a lot later. Legend has it that she was the Snow Queen the Danish author, Hans Christian Andersen, spoke about in his fairytale. However, unseen as she was, this theory had never had a requisite basis and was never further explained.

As time went on, the forlorn deity was assigned tasks that aimed for specific, chosen people freeing their potential, resulting their lifework to be considered admirable, and almost magical. All spirits had agreed there were and there would be humans that deserved to be known for their own "magic". The Fifth Spirit helped people accomplish dreams and bring visions to life, as she was the only spirit that had the power to transform, painlessly get into one's head to guide and/or give advice and take a human form of any needed age as well as gender when one's achievement was considered of great difficulty. She even had the power to seek a specific ability she didn't possess -which would later on be declared hers- so her efforts could be crowned with success. 

She could do anything. There was only one thing she was unable to do; feel.

She was emotionless.

Even her fondness for her mother was taken away after the second century passed. It was thought that if she was given the ability to feel, she would show mercy and compassion and her unlimited patience would spare.

So forsaken she remained. Nameless and isolated, unseen and walked through by people, having to serve her cause on her own, merely meeting with the other spirits on specific occasions.

One of them was on the first day of spring every five years, when everything was blooming, blossoming and growing. A great part of the Enchanted Forest was her deed -she expanded its length and grew more trees, more grass, bloomed more flowers, added more bushes, a small river -where the Earth Giants would be sleeping in the future- that floated into a waterfall which ended at a sheer drop, a pit full of black rocks later known as the Lost Caverns. Because of this, the spirits gave her the appellation "The Reincarnation of Mother Nature" -the only name she was ever given.

For most of her existence -as long as she was waiting  for her next task to be handed-, she lived close to her glacier. Away from any kind of life, on her own, in her Ice Palace of memories. She spent so many years close to it, that her fondness returned and she wanted to praise her treasured river.

So she gifted her her voice.

Her act was pure and sincere and played a significant role in the Enchanted Forest's and spirit's future. The iconic and quintessential call would later on be heard, and then, much later, known worldwide as one of the most famous melodies of the Gregorian Chant -the "Dies Irae".

During one of her missions, on the fjord south of the Enchanted Forest, while she was making sure the protector of people, the famous warrior of old, Aren, had achieved his life-changing goal, something changed. Aren was a little bit like her, a protector who served people as his cause. She was protecting the Forest and was serving both nature and humans. Yet a big difference grew the gap between them; he was loved and surrounded by people.

He was feeling.

She wasn't.

Occasionally, she would roam the night skies to witness a life she had never known, to witness how people felt.

And remind herself how she couldn't.

She had been told to distance herself from sunlight, as if she was a single snowflake that would melt when she met with sun's light. She had been told humans were weak, mischievous and unpredictable creatures. She had been told she was greater and superior. Yet she caught herself longing to spend a day warm in the sun, longing to see people dancing...

Longing to feel.

And so she did. Painfully, her as cold and hard as ice heart melted and its first beats sounded like heavy raindrops hitting the dry soil loudly.

She had never felt so alive. She had never... felt.

However, her accidental action required a cost to be paid.

The same, previously mentioned scanty myths, referred to another woman's soul, which had been collected and kept by Ahtohallan. She was certain she would be the one given the great purpose and when she wasn't, her soul never reached the heavens as she swore revenge on the young soul of the Fifth Spirit. Hiding her true intentions, in Ahtohallan's chambers she remained, nurturing the young spirit like mother Ahtohallan did.

Once she learned the youthful deity had broken the laws she had been restrained from ignoring, the resentful soul brought her bitter foe to the Enchanted Forest, secretly from Ahtohallan, and for the first time in forever, she allowed her to feel.

While she burned her.

The Fifth Spirit was set on fire and was obliged to feel her skin melting, like snow on a bright, sunny day. It was unimaginably painful. Her haunting call, that was later on used by a young Northuldra girl, tore the sky apart and meant only one thing;

"Help me".

If it wasn't for Ahtohallan's and Water Nokk's intervention, the Fifth Spirit would have vanished. The evil soul was banished to the Lost Caverns, a place with no way out, where one would be at their lowest emotional point from that day forward. However, before she was sent away, the hateful soul put a curse on the traumatized spirit -when she failed to serve her cause, she would be burned. If the mistreating soul still existed, that no one ever confirmed.

After her adored water horse healed her with the water's curative properties, the Fifth Spirit swore not to feel again, and accepted the prohibition of getting any near the land where the future kingdom of Arendelle would come to be.

Thousands of years passed and the unseen spirit's heart had gotten colder than ice, preventing her from repeating her mistake. Ahtohallan and the other spirits mourned for her, for she was not who she had once been, and made great efforts to change the past's design, intentionally forgetting what had been done was unchangeable.

Despite her change -and most likely because of it-, the Fifth Spirit had dedicated most of her attention to her precious forest. Seeing this, Ahtohallan assigned her the task of looking after a young Northuldra girl, so the deity could be surrounded by her forest.

The Fifth Spirit and the young Northuldra were somehow connected. Iduna, the young Northuldra, would occasionally hear the eerie melody of the spirit, since the deity would "sing to those who hear". The girl would also be seen playing around with Gale, the feisty Wind Spirit. Iduna was connected with nature in an unexplainable way -she was different and destined for great things; she was chosen.

One day, ships arrived at the entrance to the fjord south of the Enchanted Forest -wooden ships full of people who were determined to create a home for themselves near the water. Soon, the kingdom of Arendelle came to be and the Fifth Spirit knew what that meant.

The newcomers were welcomed by the Northuldra's ruler when he met with their king on a cliff as the sun set. The leaders firmly shook hands at this meeting, which was seen by others only in hazy silhouette. Yet the deity saw everything clearly.

To demonstrate their goodwill and friendship, the Arendellians built a mighty dam in the Enchanted Forest. They placed it on the river that flowed into the Arenfjord, the deep blue body of water upon which Arendelle Castle had been built. The dam connected all the lands and made it easier for the Northuldra and their reindeer to roam. King Runeard, the leader of Arendelle, offered it to the Northuldra as a symbol of peace and cooperation between the two groups. But the powerful spirit could see past his facade.

When the dam was complete, the Arendellians threw a great celebration. Northuldra from all over the land gathered at the base of the dam to mingle and feast with the Arendellians. The Fifth Spirit tried to warn the indigenous tribe about the trickery behind the kindness for months but no one listened -they were all busy welcoming and celebrating with the frenemies.

The poor spirit could see how it would all end and attempted to warn young Iduna. But it was too late -the battle had already begun.

Arendelle had turned out to be harmful once again. And as the lush beauty of her beloved forest was being destroyed, as the chaos continued beneath her, she cried, with her plangent call shaking the trees and crumbling the ground.

Her cry echoed as another voice synchronized with it -a pleading for help. Her eyes spotted Iduna holding a young boy in her embrace, as the girl called for help in agony. The Fifth Spirit, overcome with grief of centuries, wailed her eerie melody, mourning for her forest.

As well as for herself.

Her end was near and she was about to meet her tragic fate. She had failed to protect the Forest. She had failed to serve her cause -and the curse continued.

The Wind Spirit heard her call and took the children to safe ground. But it was the only one who listened.

Overcome with rage, the Fifth Spirit cried sorrowfully one last time before a mist, as thick and impenetrable as stone, enveloped the forest, as a promise she would forever guard it from foreigners. Then she disappeared, since people had stopped listening.

However, this was not her end. The Wind Spirit carried the remaining bits of her body to the devastated glacier that grieved over her lost daughter for days, in the meantime causing great parts of herself to collapse. The Water Spirit, overwhelmed with pain as well, told the river about the girl the Fifth Spirit was assigned to look after. Ahtohallan understood the importance of the young Northuldra's deed and finally let the soul of the deity find its new body, knowing she would not return the same.

The Fifth Spirit's soul travelled across the skies and on the Northern Lights above Arendelle it remained, looking after young Iduna, for she was destined to carry in her womb the reincarnation of the lost spirit.

And so, the spirits waited -waited for the Fifth Spirit to be reborn and return to where she belonged.

They waited for her to rise again.

On another note, Rin is also a very good dancer/singer.

Tsunotori and Monoma exchange manga/bandes dessinees. They like talking about them together.

Kodai is very easy to talk to. A lot of people are somewhat intimidated by her, but she doesn’t notice.

Komori jumps up and down when she laughs.

Tsuburaba and Kaibara met during the entrance exam. They became fast friends.

Also, I know this probably won’t be canon, but it’s a crack theory between me and my mutuals that Kaibara is related to the sixth ofa user.

Tsuburaba can play the kazoo, and the slide whistle. He has played Despacito for his classmates on numerous occasions.

Fukidashi is very good at drawing realistic bodily proportions. 

His favourite hero is Present Mic!

Tsunotori is from Chicago, though she moved to New York at a very young age.

Bondo was bullied for his appearance in elementary/middle school.

When class 1-B heard about it, they vowed revenge. Even Shiozaki. 

Bondo was raised by his grandparents. They gave him nothing but love and support.

Shiozaki is Afro/Japanese/Filipino.

Tetsutetsu was raised by a single mom.

Awase has two sisters and a younger brother. One older sister, one younger sister, one younger brother.

His younger brother is quirkless, and Awase had to step in to defend him a lot...

On a happier note

All the boys in the class respect women. Unlike a certain grape skunk.

Tokage’s favourite heroes are Miruko, and Burnin. She likes her attitude.

She cannot stand Endeavor though. 

Shishida comes from a wealthy family, but like Iida, he wanted to get into U.A on his own, instead of recommendations.

Kaibara has recorded his classmates doing dumb stuff, but he’ll do the same to anyone else tbh.

Never bet against Shoda while watching a wrestling match. He will win.

Yanagi likes to go ghost hunting. She brings her friends.

Komori has used the meme “you cannot kill me in a way that matters” so many times.

Kodai has two shiba inus. One is named Rex, one is named Chiba @moshiguro came up with this.

Birthday Azul Story Details and Thoughts

I think I’m finally calm enough to be able to relay my thoughts on the lore we got from Azul’s story. So we’ll go through the details in order that they were brought up, and in bullet points, I may detail my thoughts ranging from pure keysmash to actual questions and theories.

I will place most of the post under a cut because this may get a bit long. Do note also that this contains spoilers for his birthday story so take caution.

Azul’s birthday parties are celebrated with the family and the staff. The restaurant would close for a day or two, and they will have a celebration where all of his favorite foods are laid out onto a table. While now, he thinks it may have been too much, as a child, this made him very happy.

First off, I FEEL SO SOFT OVER THIS;;; before his birthday card got released, I always thought Azul might not like his birthday because what if he associated it with the bullying he endured and maybe his bullies managed to ruin it. But nO, he actually had a happy birthday... no, multiple happy birthdays, and I’m just so fucking glad because HE CAN AT LEAST ENJOY HIS BIRTHDAY UEUEUEUEUE

It’s also very sweet how the staff would join in the celebration!! It’s so cute, and the way Azul talks about them gives that idea that he includes them as family;;;

Azul’s mom manages the restaurant. Her business started out small, but by the time Azul was able to understand the world around him more (I’m going to guess at least around 8 years old), the restaurant is now the most famous in the Coral Sea and many of the staff are professionals. Furthermore, she is not only an excellent cook, but also a genius manager. She’s also invested in the Mostro Lounge.

First off, I stan his mom

It’s actually sweet that Azul calls her a genius cook and manager and includes the staff as family despite having an apparent dislike for the restaurant itself.

Also like, the fact his mom apparently helps him with the lounge?? Like brooo that mother-son relationship is sexy

As someone who would lean to mom more for help than dad, this really makes me feel so... is happy even a perfect word to describe it? I guess it’s just, wow more similarities to share with Azul I guess. 😳

This actually made me remember an essay I had to do in grade 7 HAHAHAHA it was about women leaders. I forgot what exactly I wrote, but part of my research was centered on how women were better in business than men. A quick Google search will lead you to an article that states that women are more honest, more empathetic and collaborative, and more resilient (having faced discrimination and all that), and the article also shows that women-run businesses generate more revenue than men-run businesses. I say take those details with a grain of salt unless you can prove that all of it is true. It’s not to say there aren’t successful men. Anyway, some people have a business-y mind and others don’t. I really just brought this up because it was funny how I remembered this. 😆

And I thought I would never use my school essays again.

Azul’s father... is not actually his biological father but his stepfather. He is a lawyer who met his mom when she was filing for her divorce. While he is a kind and sincere man in general, in his work ethic, he is very thorough and flawless. He’s the one who taught Azul all about contracts and law.

Now here is the explanation as to how Azul knows about drafting contracts xD his dad knows about the law!

Even if he’s not his actual dad, I’ll still refer to him as dad because the kanji says stepfather but Azul calls him father. At least, that’s what my JP friend said. Point is, Azul respects him enough to include him as part of the family, and I actually really like that?? Not many media would depict characters liking their stepparents, but here, Azul is actually comfy with him. It’s like taking in a fresh breath of air.

I find it amusing that his mom probably married her divorce lawyer. xD I say probably because it technically wasn’t stated and for all we know, she had an entirely different lawyer and she just saw him around lmao though then again, idk how the divorce process works 💀

This puts a lot of things into perspective, both in regards to Azul’s mom and Azul himself. First off, his mom literally raised her son (who was being bullied in school) while filing a divorce and managing a business that was small. She’s gone through so much man, and now look at her! Her business is successful, her new husband is a kind man who is accepted by her son, and she’s got all this good staff.

As for Azul himself, this is more focused on the bullying side. From the way he talked, it seemed like he was already there when the divorce occurred... actually, even before that. Obviously, there’s a reason why his mom filed a divorce. Could it be that his household environment was toxic because his parents often argued? Possibly, it could be worse...

And it could be because of that that he couldn’t share his problems to his parents. Actual dad seemed like a jackass and his mom was probably stressed out because of him. Having these things in mind, he would shy away from them because he didn’t want to get either of them mad or anything.

I wonder if the business got successful when his mom remarried or after she remarried because that’s the idea I’m getting, but it’s all based on assumption. And if I am correct, that means by the time his mom remarried, Azul’s already pretty much deep into the spite he feels for his bullies. Which is sad if ever my theories on this are right;;; had Azul have a better home life earlier on... well, who knows?

Everyone in the family can use magic, but Azul’s grandmother is especially talented with magic. She uses them to help others.

Jeez, what’s with all the grandmas in Twst being so magically talented? At this rate, they’re going to be the final bosses of the game.

But seriously, Malleus has his grandmother who is the Queen of the Valley of Thorns. Now we have Azul’s grandmother, whom he described as someone benevolent... and take note, this is how he describes the Sea Witch often.

Definitely, the grandma and the Sea Witch are not the same person because Azul is a fanboy of the Sea Witch lmao and he’d have called her his grandma kek (plus idk if the Sea Witch is still alive). But just... the similarities are uncanny.

Plot twist: Azul is related to the Sea Witch because his actual dad is a direct descendant of her— shot

In the Mostro Lounge, Azul is very particular about the tableware because to him, the presentation is just as important as the taste. No matter how delectable the dish, it’s going to be ruined if the presentation is ugly. Because of this, their tableware comes from a high-quality brand. Despite this, Floyd sometimes breaks the tableware.

Holy shit, I never really thought about the tableware playing a role. But he really does have a point. Imagine eating something like beef wellington using a plastic spoon and fork. 💀

Ok, that is an exaggeration. But like, say you use the simple spoon and fork to eat your everyday meals. You’re not going to use those utensils when you have guests over, no, you’re going to use your nice tableware.

Damn, the few people I know who manage a restaurant are very particular about food presentation, but I think caring about it is a sign of a good manager. Azul cares about what he’s serving to the customers, and he isn’t about to give them something subpar. He may scam your ass, but he will make sure that customers enjoy the experience.

I’d be pissed off too if Floyd broke the tableware. That shit is expensive. 🗿 Don’t break things just because you’re moody smh

Azul also implies that the teacups are pricey, saying that we wouldn’t be holding the cup so carelessly if we knew the price. Guess that’s why the place is so damn expensive.

Azul brings up how difficult it was setting up. They had to research on famous restaurants, send staff to the suppliers, etc.

Ngl, I had to ask my dad about how difficult setting up a restaurant was because he used to run a restaurant. It’s just so I can get a good perspective of things, even if Azul’s business is essentially a student-run business.

He said that it really isn’t all that difficult, as long as you “know the numbers”. So I guess as long as you have your basic foundation, then you can go off from that. He also emphasized the importance of having good business partners.

I think what made it difficult for Azul was that he was pretty much running a fancy restaurant that isn’t just being bought from another brand, so it required a lot more research on how other famous restaurants worked, as well as who are the best suppliers around.

Ngl, I could kinda imagine how it looked like. Having to see the construction work, having to consult with a lot of people, having to ask for a lot of help...

But it really highlights Azul’s perserverance and determination. Despite the difficulties, he was able to open up a restaurant at 17, which may be mainly for NRC, but it also opens up to the public on some occasions. Damn, I stan that.

Azul takes breaks by reading autobiographies of businessmen he finds in the library in the dim lights of his room. His room also relaxes him because it contains his tastes in design and collectables.

I lowkey wanna clown him for reading autobiographies because damn, how do you find relaxation from reading about the lives of businessmen?

And then I proceed to clown myself because in a sense, I am analyzing his life and he is a businessman... but hey, at least we have pictures and voices. 🗿

Okay but I’m actually relieved that he does take breaks?? He does give that idea that he continuously does his work and has to be yanked out of his office to rest but no, he actually knows how to take a damn break... granted, he’s still trying to pursue business by reading up on those people, but hey, if it’s a passion, it’s not work. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also like that this implies that he isn’t so conceited as to think that he’s already the best he can be. No, if anything, this shows that he’s aware that he has so much more to learn, and he can learn from reading up on the lives of others who have gone before him. Learn from their mistakes. He’s striving to improve, and that is so inspiring;;;;

Also can I just say this does fulfill one of the things I rot about because he definitely would visit the bookstore to read a book, and I used to visit the bookstore to read and imagine if we meet there aha ahahaha just kidding,,, unless,,,,,,

Azul’s hobby is coin collecting. When he was a child, he discovered a coin in a sunken ship. He thought it didn’t mean much, but after studying it, there’s only 100 of those made. While its face value was 100 madols, for a collector, it may as well be worth 500,000 madols. Currently, he has about 200 coins collected, and the ones he’s especially interested in, he frames them.

Damn, and I thought he likes coins because octopuses are into shiny things. I like that there’s more to it. Granted, it’s still Azul being Azul, but we love him nonetheless.

He said something about how the economy doesn’t affect the value of the coins? To be honest, my brain works so horribly with things related to economy that even simple business and economic jargon just fly over my head. It’s frustrating. 😔

I wonder if he wandered off into the sunken ship because he was running away from his bullies;;;

Furthermore, this also gives him a similarity with Ariel: they find things around and collect them lmao

Another hobby Azul has is board games. When he first started school, he was looking for a club to join when he stumbled upon the board game club and met Idia... though it’s more like he met Idia’s brother, Ortho. Ortho showed him a game that simulates business, and Azul thought that this would benefit him in the business world so he signed up immediately for it. He adds that he loves to defeat people in games of intellect.

Ortho, what have you done 💀 why did you show him Monopoly—

Damn, he really tries to apply business into everything, but I can’t blame him. XD

Okay, but wow, that’s sexy of him to love defeating people in intellect 😳😳 like bruh . I feel him??? I love planning on how to secure my victory in games. It’s especially fun during EBG. 😆 @twstpasta can attest to this. :)

I don’t know if I ever mentioned this here, but I love that he does have board games as a hobby. Even if it’s because of business, it’s at least a way for him to relax and actually have something that makes him feel like a teenager. 😭

All in all, Azul’s birthday story gave us so much food, and I’m so happy about it. Honest to God, it makes me look up to him even more because he continues to learn, he doesn’t give up on his passions, and he knows how to take it easy when he should.

Maybe it’s my bias for him, but the feeling I felt when taking all this in is indescribable. It’s like I enter a buffet expecting to have a good meal, or I enter a Catholic mass and expect to be enriched by a good homily, or even I enter a Ludovico Einaudi concert and expect to be touched at the heart. Then I partake in all three, and I come out of the buffet having the best meal of my life, or I come out of the church, hearing the best homily I ever had in my life, or I leave the concert, feeling the most light and whole I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m just so inspired after reading that, rot aside.

And with this, I end with a happy birthday to Azul, you’re such an amazing person even if you’re not real. I really hope you have an enjoyable birthday. 🥺

I’ll just add that I feel like that one thing Joseph liked about Suzie W was her looks and how easy going/funny she was but especially liked that she wasn’t a though woman. It’s canon he don’t care for anything in a woman Except their looks (he even said he’d let the girl Straizo held hostage be harmed because she was ugly (thinking that it was a reasonable way of thinking and that anyone would fall for it since it seems logical (it wasn’t)).

He said about Lisa Lisa (before knowing she was his mom) that he could never marry a woman like her because of her string character.

People on some thread said that Tomoko made more sense than Suzie because Tomoko was more similar to women in Joseph’s life (Erina, Lisa Lisa) aka strong temperament in comparison to Suzie who was more ditzy and care free.

My theory is that Joseph’s musty ass met Tomoko at some point, a pretty strong character student who might have said something sassy to him or flirt with him In a sassy/banter way (intriguing him and lowkey getting to him) and he started flirting with her because he wanted to win her like one win a fight. Since he don’t like strong temper in women but still think with his second head , he still went to woo her as in « See I still got it » to both her and himself.

Or perhaps it was as simple as a pretty college girl flirting and bantering with him and he had a fling.

Anyways I don’t buy in the one night stand because it’s clear Joseph had to spend time with her based on her reaction wether it was a week, a day or a couple hours hence he cheated on his own accord.

I really wanted to see Suzie’s inner thoughts, I doubt she forgave him only through the power of love.

Sidenote: I love Araki’s work but I wish he sometimes put a little more into the why X character do X things. Eg: Joseph’s unfaithful ass cheating. Dio’s determination to ruin Jonathan’s life and later trying to remake the world for himself (and also why this man was getting it with everybody under the sun, 4 children damn, I know condoms weren’t a thing in the 1800s but if the man had the time to learn about planes, cars and adapt with modern trends (piercing his ears) he had to know about wrapping it up.

Anyways, from Suzie Q’s POV pre-Josuke their love story is cute , you’re a young woman living life with your mentor then you met that tall, handsome, cocky , energetic guy then y’all get married and moves to America where he becomes a billionaire so you living lavish with y’all daughter.

Then it gets ugly cuz he cheated and had a whole child on you.

From a 3rd Party it’s even more tragic because he really had the audacity to adopt another child then have her raise her with him (imagine being in old age with no Hamon having to go through raising a kid all over again).

I don’t wanna hear Joseph’s POV because I know I’ll throw hands with my screen.

Anyways, sorry for the long rant , love your work (sorry for the spicy ask between really if it made you uncomfortable) . Joseph cheating really still get my blood worked up.

But anyways, keep doing what you do, you’re really talented.

The great thing about being individual people is that you can look at something and form your own opinions and everyone just respects one another's opinions (most of the time).

Like I said earlier, to have Tomoko acting like that when she confused Jotaro with Joseph, there must have been a whole relationship in between since she's normally a no-bullshit strong person. If Joseph flirted with her knowingly or she just got the wrong idea - we'll never know, we're not araki.

And when it was mentioned when Joseph came home with Shizuka - Suzi almost killed him thinking he had another affair he didn't tell her about, but was pretty accepting when Joseph wanted to adopted her with Suzi. Maybe Joseph was trying to use Shizuka as a way to fix the bond he had with Suzi while raising a child (because he's still soft for children - like he was for holly). I mean, that's still kinda horrible, but at least he still cared for Shizuka.

Maybe Araki might get inspired one day and make a light novel describing things from Suzi's or Joseph's perspective about Josuke and whatnot. But for now, we're just theorizing. Joseph is still an asshat for cheating, let's get that clear though.

- also your question for dio not wrapping it up - he's dio and he thinks he's too good for condoms. Maybe read 'Over Heaven' to get some more answers on Dio since it's pretty much his personal diary.

A/N: Chapter 7

As she waits for the car in front of her to pull ahead, Kensi basks in the warmth of the bean juice as it moves its way down her throat. She so focused on her morning joe that she doesn’t notice the lone figure standing on the curb. Her brow furrows in confusion as he steps up to the side of the car. “Oh, my god, babe, what are you doing?”

The dirty shaggy blonde flashes his partner the gross yellow caps that are surrounding his teeth, earning a cringe. “Had a little LAPD undercover field trip early this morning. Can I get a ride?”

She extends her head towards him, sniffing as the unknown smell assaults her nostrils. “Is that you?”

“I like to go method, you know that.”

“That’s really disgusting.”

“I have to be convincing and the smell is a big part of that.” He places his arm against the window sill, sending his girl a wink. “So how bout that ride?”

“I love you but I wouldn’t let you ride in my trunk smelling like that.”

“Are you serious?”

It takes everything in her not to dry heave as a new odor enters her bubble. “Serious as that smell coming from your clothes.” Shaking her head, the brunette smirks, sending him a playful wink before driving off.

“No, no. No, no. Come on, Kens!”

“Bye, cutie.”

Letting out an exasperated sigh, he watches the retreating taillights fill his vision, leaving him stranded on the side of the road. “This is love.”

Later that day the junior agent listens to the older man’s theory as to which direction the missing marines may have headed, but her instincts tell her that what he’s saying isn’t necessarily true. “I’m not so sure, Major. I found SUV tracks heading in the other direction.”

The older man rolls his eyes, almost challenging the brunette. “I’m pretty sure they’re heading away from Mexico.” He dismisses the pair, focusing on his own agenda before walking over to the rest of his team. “If you’ll excuse me.”

“Did I just get blown off?” She turns to her boyfriend, honestly wondering why she’s at all surprised by the Major’s reaction. 

“Like Ronald McDonald at a PETA convention.” He shakes his head, knowing if anyone can track, its one Kensi Marie Blye. Without an ounce of doubt in his eyes, Deeks looks to her. “Hey, trust your gut.”

A barely there smile rises to her lips. She sees the absolute faith he has in her shining bright in his cerulean blues. It’s calming and gives her a moment to center herself. “Looks like somebody was being dragged, which seems to fit the scenario.” She follows the trail, but stops when its clear that it goes on for miles. 

Realization hits her and she tries to bite back a smile thinking about how her partner his gonna respond to what they have to do next. “You ready to go for a little ride?”

The words leave her lips and he can’t help the smile that spreads to his face. The image of her in nothing but satin lace saying those exact same words has him in a trance.

She sees his eyes glaze over as he licks his lips. Shaking her head, she can only imagine what’s going on in his head right now. “On the bikes, Marty, on the bikes.”

“So no hot desert sex then?” He playfully pouts. 

She ignores his question, walking off towards the dirt bikes in hopes that he didn’t notice the blush rise to her cheeks.

Two hours later, Kensi suddenly stops, pulling of her helmet as her partner follows. “I’ll never understand why you do this for fun.”

The corner of her mouth curls into a smile when she watches him shake his hair. The dirty clothes mixed with his sun kissed skin does things to her, a lot of things. “You look rugged, babe. Wouldn’t make you for a four-star hotel camper.”

“Kens, the last time we went on vacation you and Kip went on an ATV adventure while me and the cupcake girls stayed at the pool all day and got pedicures.” He suddenly pauses, the first string of words suddenly washing over him. “Wait, you think I look rugged?”

“Yeah, like Malibu Ken, he wasn’t anatomically correct either.”

He eyes his girlfriend, challenging her. The squawk of laughter she lets out makes his heart flutter. He’s been working on her sense of humor for 20 years now, when she thinks she’s being funny somehow it makes the situation all the better. His little weirdo. But that also doesn’t mean he can’t ‘fight’ back. “In that case, I guess I’ll just have to keep what I have to myself.”

“You wouldn’t last 10 minutes.”

“Oh you think so?”

Her eyes follow him up and down as she examines his body, bitting her bottom lip. “I guess only time will tell. Oh, yeah, I forgot to ask, are you good with me walking around the house naked tonight? It’s just these clothes are so constricting today, I need a little bit of air.”

“Uh.” He’s left frozen in the hot desert sun, well all but one part of him. She’s gonna be the death of him, but what a way to go.

Dread fills her being as she watches the guy who was chasing after her partner come back on the ATV. Her heart races, thinking about how his lifeless body could be laid out alone somewhere, but before she can get too deep into her thoughts the perpetrators surround the bulldozer spraying bullets right towards the brunette and marines.

They’re so focused on those they can’t see that they miss the lone assailant approach them on their side. Just has he lifts his gun, a series of bullets hit the man from out of nowhere. 

Kensi’s brow furrows, wondering if their back up has finally arrived when out jumps her rugged looking boyfriend covered in more dirt than she remembers. She’s so angry with him for losing contact that she doesn’t even have time to take a relieving breath that he’s alive.

The detective hops over the scrap of metal, coming up beside his partner. “Did you miss me?”

“Where have you been?”

“They killed my bike.”

They crouch down even further as the bullets continue to fly, their eyes lock, trying to come up with a plan. Any plan that will get them out of this alive. 

With not much time Deeks realizes the action he needs to take to ensure the best possible outcome for their safety. “Alright, you know what? I’ll draw their fire, you make a run for the SUV.”

“Are you sure about this?”

“Not really, no.”

Before she can respond he’s halfway across to the trailer spraying the men with bullets, once he’s found cover behind the old truck, Kensi makes her move as her partner covers her.

She quickly makes it to the SUV just as one of the guys loads the rocket launcher. As she’s messing with the wires, a whirling sound fills the air followed by a loud explosion. Looking up, her heart sinks once again, knowing that’s the exact same spot where her love was. “Marty.”

Giving up. That’s all she’s thinking about now as the perpetrators continue their assault. They’re outnumbered and Marty is more than likely dead. It’s hopeless. 

As she lays there in the seat of the vehicle a sudden twirling noise fills the air, to much of her relief she soon recognizes the sound. Help has arrived.

Staying down until backup has taken care of the men, Kensi takes a calming breath as a lone tear escapes her eye. God how is she going to go on with her life? How will she explain it to his mom? How will she explain it to their friends?

“Look, baby, I know you’re tired, but you can sleep when we get home.”

Her eyes go wide at the sound of the oh so familiar surfer drawl that belongs to her best friend. Before she can even process what’s going on in her head, her body is jumping out of the seat and lunging into his arms. “I thought you were dead.”

“I’m okay.” He places a kiss to the top of her head. To say the explosion knocked him on his ass is a bit of an understatement. He was this close to being engulfed in flames, so close in fact that the back of his jacket is charred. So close to losing all he had with her and leaving her by herself. That thought alone, sends his mind into overdrive. 

Realizing that their coworkers could be walking up at any minute, they quickly pull apart, the aching to be close to one another radiating through their beings. Sharing a look, they center themselves and get back to the art of deception. Rushing over to the marines, the partners help load them into the chopper and take a much deserved sigh of relief. All in a days work.

They finally get back to the mission later that evening to grab their things, gladly leaving their paper work for tomorrow. The pair say their goodbyes to the rest of the team before heading out to their respective vehicles, but the shaggy blonde stops her from getting into her car. “How about I pick you up from your place and we go for a ride?”

“I like the sound of that.”

Observing the area around them, the detective makes sure the coast is clear before taking hold of her hand, his thumb moving back and forth across her soft skin, bringing both of them a sliver of comfort. 

His eyes find hers, there’s so much he needs to say to her, but now is not the time. “I love you.”

She’s caught a bit off guard, not by his words, but the turmoil and sadness written in his eyes. “I love you too, Marty.”

She looks across the vastness that is the ocean. The golden and pink hues that envelope the world around them is one of the most magical things that she’ll never get tired of. But the view is the last thing on her mind because something’s been off with her boyfriend for the better part of the day and then their interaction in the parking garage, has her wondering. “Baby, what’s wrong?”

“I-I need you to...”

“Need me to what?”

His chest rises and falls as he takes a calming breath. He’s not really sure of what he’s about to asks her...actually he is. Turning towards her, he’s met with her concerned loving mismatched eyes, and it gives him the courage to continue on. “Marry me.”

“I’m sorry?”

“Great, Marty. That’s just great. You have an entire rolodex of words and those are the ones you choose.”

“Marty. Baby. Stop.”

Taking another deep breath, he tries to gather his thoughts. 

They sit in silence for a few seconds before he finally gains his courage once again to confess what’s been at the forefront of his mind for the past couple of hours. “Kens, I love you. In some way I’ve always known that I was in love with you. You’re my best friend, the person I want to share everything with. I don’t know how you did it but that 8 year old little girl I met 20 years ago made me feel the safest I’ve ever felt in my life and she’s been doing so ever since.” He reaches for her hand, needing contact now more than ever. “I know this is sudden, but when you think about it, its really not. We know everything about each other, we’re a part each other, past, present and future. I want you to know that you can count on me for the rest of our lives. Baby, I’ll always be here loving you and being your biggest supporter. I so very much want you to be the same for me, so...Kensi Marie Blye, will you marry me?”

There are tears in her eyes, this is sudden and happening oh so fast. Her heart is racing and her thoughts are all over the place. Sliding across the old leather seat, she brings her lips to his. “I love you so much, and I want all of those things that you do, but I think I need a little time to process everything. Is that okay?”

He should’ve saw this coming. I mean they’ve only been dating for a week and this topic has never come up. His best friend is one of the most level headed people he’s ever known, so he recognizes that she needs time to process this commitment and all that comes with it. He places a reassuring kiss to her lips, a barely there smile across his face. “Of course it is. I didn’t mean to spring this all on you. It’s just what with today and the explosion, I knew I didn’t want to waste another minute.”

“And we’re not.” She assures him, if there’s one thing she knows its that life is short and there’s no promise of tomorrow, but she still needs to gather herself and her thoughts. If they’re going to do this, she needs to have a level head not be wrapped up in the near death experience of today. “We’re together. I just want you to know that no matter what, I do want everything with you. I just need some time to process everything.”

“I understand.”

She places a kiss to his lips once more before her head finds his shoulder. “I love you.”

His head finds hers as they stare out across the cliff side sunset. The tension in his body slowly releases as her fingers intertwine with his. As long as she’s still here, that’s all that matters. “I love you. I love you so much.”
